Labor Day. Really.

The holiday is usually supposed to be spent lounging around and taking a break from working, but we found it to be a good time to take on a few of the home improvement projects we've been wanting to do, mainly building a wall to create a separate laundry area in our garage and work on the balcony deck. We should have more pics posted when we've got it all cleaned and buttoned up, but here are a few to check out in the meantime.

A great BIG thank you to mom, dad and Pops for lending a hand (i.e. doing all the work) and to Nana for keeping us well fed.

Looks good!
We really need to re-stain our deck too... Tips or suggestions from you "pros" are always welcome. :)

Lookin' good guys. Just one questions...Gil...where's the work boots brotha?

Ha - work boots are for people who are actually working. Plus, it was about 150 degrees outside so the slippers actually felt really good. Should've probably at least worn shoes though..

I weed-eated (is that the correct way to say that?) our front yard the other day in flip-flops... I suppose I should have probably worn shoes too. :)

Your projects are looking good! However, Niko doesn't look too thrilled about that new cat door.

Looks like you celebrated "Labor" Day very appropriately... :) Everything looks good, and I'm sure having the cat boxes out of the house is particularly nice.
