That's Just Not Right

I was reading a recent article on usatoday.com about animal breeding mills that I found really disturbing. I wouldn't say that I'm an activist by any stretch of the imagination, but I just had to let others see this. As the article says - if you're thinking about getting a pet, be sure to visit your local animal shelter and take a good look. There are a lot of would-be pets just waiting for a new home. We were lucky enough to find one of our critters from a shelter here in town, and he's been a great addition to the household (amongst other things).

Might have to become a vegetarian after this one..

Here here! I couldn't agree with you more. And I guarantee you Tofu and Sir Arthur's support as well. :)

Yeah, I always feel so sad to see the little puppies locked in their cages at the pet store... They are lonely and scared, and hardly have any room to move around in.

For several years my mom bread the family Shih Tzu and sold the puppies. I always felt bad for the mama dog...

We have an over abundance of animals in this country as it is! It just doesn't seem ethically right to over-breed certain dogs (and other animals) while we are daily euthanizing so many other unwanted animals.
