Goodbye for now

For anyone who happens to stop by our blog, I would ask that you please pray for my uncle Manny and cousins Mae, Gail & Kai - my mom just called me from the hospital to let me know that my aunt Adelyn has just passed away. A few short months ago, she was diagnosed multiple myeloma - a cancer of the plasma (immune system) cells in bone marrow which produce antibodies. The prognosis of this type of cancer is fairly bleak and it didn't take very long to manifest itself, though the warning signs are difficult to catch.

It's always tough to lose a loved one, but our prayers were answered as my aunt has been given peace and comfort from her struggle, and we've been given hope that someday we'll all meet again.

To a loving wife and mother, a caring sister, and a superb aunt: you will be missed.
