Guys vs. Gals

I was talking with a co-worker who's been in a relationship for about 2 years now, and has pondered on the idea marriage though she's not sure if that's what her significant other may think would be wise at this point in time. It made me wonder how things would be different if women would be given the 'responsibility' of asking the (historically commitment-phobic) men to marry them. I'm sure there are a bunch of other things that factor in, but I'm guessing that there would be more proposals than usual, but less yes's to go with them.

What do you think?

Aside from the male phobia of commitment, I think a lot of guys are equally afraid of rejection.

It would be interesting to have the tables turned though. Maybe take turns every other year. On even years the guys do the asking, and on the odd years the women get their turn. :)

agreed. I'm sure women are justly afraid of rejection like any guy is, but I wonder if that would stop them from actually asking?

every other year would be kind of a cool idea. someone should do a test run @ Southern..
